UIA2024KL: UIA International Forum
The city of Kuala Lumpur will host the next UIA International Forum (UIA2024KL) on 15-19 November 2024 with the theme “Diversecity”. The event, organised by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), will seek to examine how emerging economies and growing cities can achieve humanity and sustainable growth.
The Forum will have the following sub-themes:
- Culture and Heritage: as the identity base of city
- Density & Sustainable Growth: vision of a future mega-city
- Equity and Ecology: the next frontier of urbanism
Forum attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a guided city tour, technical visit of Merdeka 118 (the world’s second tallest building) as well as visits of Penang and Melaka UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Call for Papers
UIA2024KL has extended the deadline of the call for papers to 31 December 2023. It invites scholars, researchers, academia, practitioners and policy makers to submit papers to be presented at the Forum to invigorate and discuss the future direction for humanity and sustainable growth. Papers should be written in English and be submitted with an abstract of 300 words maximum. The full paper should not exceed 7,000 words.

- Students (100 tickets): 100 USD
- Young architects below 40 years-old (1,000 tickets): 180 USD
UIA General Assembly
The UIA will hold its General Assembly on 18-19 November in Kuala Lumpur following the Forum. This will be an opportunity for UIA Member Sections around the world to deliberate on matters regarding the Union and determine the way forward midway into the 2023-2026 term.
