DAYLIGHT TALK BY FUENSANTA NIETO

Daylight Talks returns for 2023 – continuing to explore the significance of using natural light in architecture in partnership with prominent architectural schools around the world. First in the series is the Daylight Talk ‘Lightscapes‘ by Fuensanta Nieto, founding partner of Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos,  in collaboration with IE School of Architecture & Design in Madrid. Professor and former Dean, Martha Thorne presents the talk.

‘Lightscapes’ reflects on the ways in which Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos works with natural light as a common concept that unites their projects.

About Fuensanta Nieto

Fuensanta Nieto has worked as an architect since graduating from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Graduate School of Architecture and Planning at Columbia University in New York in 1983. She is a founding partner of Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos and was professor at the Universidad Europea de Madrid. Fuensanta Nieto lectures on architecture and participates in juries and symposia at various institutions around the world. From 1986 to 1991 she was co-director of the architectural journal ARQUITECTURA, published by the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid.

Daylight Talks is a series of free, online video lectures curated by Daylight and Architecture and organised in partnership with prominent architectural schools around the world. The talks present exciting architects and educators that are working consciously with daylight in their projects or educational programmes.

‘Daylight Talks´ is organised by the VELUX Group in collaboration with individual schools of architecture and they are endorsed by the International Union of Architects (UIA) and the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE).
